Agit-Punk Theatre are a new Dundee based ensemble that aims to create entertaining and relevant theatrical performances for a working class audience in non-traditional performance spaces such as bars. To do this we will employ epic storytelling techniques, music and theatricality to convey their message in as entertaining a way as possible. A minimum of props lights and set will allow the theatricality and power of the message and
narrative to be conveyed by the performers own technical skills of voice character and movement. It accepts that theatre of all forms is a political act and wishes to employ the medium of theatre to support and further the interests of the working class here and abroad and to challenge the propaganda of the right and ideas of discrimination or xenophobia. We believe this can only be achieved through high quality highly entertaining performance in a genuinely working class environment. 

This project is motivated by a passion for theatre and a desire to deliver quality work to audiences you are unlikely to find in a conventional theatre building. We want to build a close knit ensemble that shares these motivations and radical outlook to take innovative, professional, radical theatre that is relevant and challenges the state of the world around us into non-conventional performance spaces such as bars. Much contemporary theatre while of high quality plays to the same particular, dwindling audience. Agit-Punk will aim to produce work that speaks with a radical message to a much wider group.

 Agit Punk Theatre are holding open auditions for their Inaugural production 'Hecklers'. A comical and political piece of new writing that looks at the militant history of the dundee jute mills and how the lessons learned then could be applied to modern economic difficulties.
We are looking for three performers one female 30 or over, one male in their twenties and a third role which can be played by any age and either gender. Although not a musical in any way the piece might well incorporate live music and the ability to play an instrument or sing would be an advantage.
