I've lived in Dundee all my life and now run my own business here in the sunniest City in Scotland.
I'm a marketer and event manager who is addicted to Twitter & Facebook. I work with lots of businesses to help them drive business growth through their strategic marketing.
I love to read books, listen to all sorts of music, socialise and meet people.
I'm also an avid Dundee United fan & season ticket holder and have trained my son well in the tangerine arts!
I'm currently the Chair of Women Ahead, the Dundee & Angus businesswomen's network.
Influences / Inspirations
hmmm.....influencees & inspirations: I've been inspired in business by some of the people I've worked with in senior management who have motivated me to work hard and achieve many things.
My family inspires me and without them I wouldn't be able to have achieved my goal of working for myself.
I am also greatly inspired by beautiful shoes & hangbags and aspire to many many more!
The sunshine and scenery around Dundee & Scotland inspires me too - its rewards encourage me to work hard so that I can enjoy leisuretime.
One of my goals is a stunning self-build house with lots of glass on a high plot of land overlooking the water somewhere......
My grandmother was a great inspiration to me - her stories of her life were amazing, funny and sometimes sad. She lived through both world wars, worked for herself most of her adult life and was incredibly resourceful. She was also my rock after my Mum passed away and was great fun and very sociable.

Strategic marketing planning for businesses & Event Management
Marketing:
I work with businesses to help them articulate & understand exactly what they are trying to achieve.
We then create a robust marketing plan which ensures that they are very clever about the audiences they are trying to reach, and know how to best attract them.
I recommend creative solutions for their marketing, and provide a working marketing plan for the businesses to put into action.
I help them measure & control their marketing activities so that they can track what is working.
I have worked with large and small businesses across Dundee, including The Natural Bag Company, Kismy Hairdressing, Ancrum Electronics & Grossi's dry cleaners, and before running my own business, I was Marketing Manager at Alliance Trust PLC.
I always include social media in the marketing toolkit for my clients, and also help run many of their Facebook & Twitter pages for them, keeping the news feed flowing to their customers.
Event Management:
I plan, manage & deliver events for a range of clients - from networking & group events for businesses to showcase their products & services, to conferences & award events.
I run an annual programme for a charity, which links young people from schools across the region with businesses, to encourage them into careers in engineering, science, maths & technology. At our launch event, we bring the young people, their teachers & company mentors together to brief them on their 10-week project, then I plan the Celebration & Awards event where the teams present their final projects to the community. I was proud to see Braeview Academy win Best Overall project for 09/10, with Harris Academy picking up Most Innovative project award.
