Proms Last Night Celebration in Dundee
MUSIC fans looking for a traditional treat are being invited to Dundee City Square for the Proms Last Night celebrations in Scotland.
The event will be beamed live onto a big screen on Saturday September 11 and features superstar violinist Nicola Benedetti, soprano Lesley Garrett, guitarist Paul Galbraith, the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra conducted by Garry Walker, and the specially assembled Dundee Proms Chorus.
Hosted by television and radio presenter Kaye Adams, the conclusion of the annual BBC Proms season is visiting Dundee for the first time and bringing with it some of the magic of the Last Night of the Proms, but with a distinctly Scottish flavour.
The Caird Hall concert is a sell out, but those who were unlucky enough to miss out still have the chance to join in via the giant screen in City Square.
Gates open at 6pm and tickets, with a maximum of four per person, are available in person at Dundee City Box Office, 6 City Square or by email at mailto:citybox@dundeecity.gov.uk
Tickets for the outdoor screen event are free of chargeĀ and in keeping with the spirit of the Proms thereĀ are standing "promenade" tickets with very limited seating capacity which will be available on the night on a first come first served basis.
