Light Night

Light Night on 27 November transformed Dundee's city centre into a huge performance space. the whole event was free and attended by thousands of people.

One of the events was "Light@Howff", or also billed as "On a Storytellers Night" - where the Howff Graveyard was transformed by lighting and projection to form a backdrop for four actors who recalled the history of the site and some of the characters it contains. This event was particularly popular with over 2500 people entering the grounds during the evening. Such was demand that the event was extended on the night to help clear the queues of people who turned up for the last entry at 9pmThe Howff event was designed and installed by Steve Page, who is also behind the popular Garden Of Light Event at the Botanic Gardens. Dundee Based DBS productions provided the actors and helped steward the event to make sure no-one got lost amidst the gravestones!More images of Light Night can be found at The Electric Company's website by clicking here. The Electric Company is based in Dundee and were responsible for supporting many of the art installations on the night, including the large projections, the games arena at the Overgate and many of the smaller projections spread throughout the town. Proving that Dundee has the technical and artistic talent to deliver top class events.
