The culture of a city can be about many things - its history, its buildings, its music and art - and of course its people.

Dundee is one of the sunniest cities in Scotland and enjoys an average of 1,523 hours of sunshine every year. Dundee is positioned close to the sea which means that winters can be quite mild. The average temperature for December – February is 1°C and the temperatures can reach highs of 20°C in July and August. For the rest of the year temperatures are mild and compare favourably with other cities.

Dundee has a population of over 148,000 people and is known as One City, Many Discoveries thanks to its scientific contributions. Dundee has one of the highest student ratios per head of population anywhere in the UK, bringing with it an exciting and diverse nightlife, leisure and culture.

Diversity is welcomed with opportunities for worship in a wide range of faiths including Christianity, Buddhism, Hinduism, Islam, Judaism and Sikhism, as well as multi-denominational institutions, which welcome people of all faiths or none. There is a high quality access to the cultural heritage of Dundee.
