You can easily immerse yourself for hours in a sea of vinyl, CD racks and 7” singles at the mutli award-winning “Groucho’s Record Store” on the Nethergate. It’s also a ticket agency for gigs around the country and runs buses to some larger events. Probably one of the best design focused shops in Scotland, “DCA Shop” (inside Dundee Contemporary Art) showcases high-quality design work including jewellery, stationery, books and toys and limited edition artworks, many produced in the DCA Print Studio. “Arkive” and “Manifesto” are two much-loved fashion names in Dundee stocking well known and hard-to-find labels. “Spex Pistols’s” quirky interior and eyecatching external artwork is a haven for beautifully designs spectacles and sunglasses and just across the road on Westport, “Gallery 48” stocks a rotating selection of prints, artwork and one-off pieces created by up and coming artists and designers.
