BBC Radio 1's Big Weekend is coming to Dundee in May!
Camperdown Park has been chosen as the venue for the flagship music festival, which is being delivered by the BBC in partnership with Dundee City Council.
The event takes place on the Bank Holiday weekend of May 22-24. Artists announced so far include Biffy Clyro, Harry Styles, Dua Lipa and Calvin Harris.
Dundee will become one of only two locations to host the Big Weekend twice, following 2006’s Muse-headlined festival.
Council leader John Alexander said: "This is an incredible opportunity for Dundee and we are looking forward to hosting an exciting event at Camperdown Park.
“Dundee is the only city, outwith Derry/Londonderry, to host the event twice and I think that shows the positive reputation that our city has.
“The return of the Big Weekend will showcase Dundee not only to the tens of thousands of people who attend, but also the millions who will watch and listen through the BBC.
“We expect a huge economic boost for the area – such as filling hotels to 100% occupancy - as the event has been worth millions of pounds to previous host locations.
“It’s also significant that the majority of tickets will be allocated to local postcodes."
