Dundee Afternoon Lectures 2019-2020
Six local societies, The Royal Scottish Geographical Society Dundee Centre, The Friends of Dundee City Archives, Dundee Art Society, The Royal Society for the Protection of Birds, The Friends of the University of Dundee Botanic Gardens and Abertay Historical Society have organised a fascinating series of talks. Open to all members of the public. Wednesday 12th February Alasdair Lemon - Gardening for Wildlife What steps can you take to help wildlife in your garden and 'Give Nature a Home'. Ally Lemon will describe the types of gardening features and plants that can be used and what varieties of insects and birds they will attract. Wednesday 4th March Seaside Spaces-Tidal Tales and Creative Geographies Dr Susan P. Mains, Geographer at the University of Dundee, will take us on a journey through seaside towns, humble harbours and majestic views. How have coastal communities and landscapes inspired creative activities and how might we harness these engaging spaces to encourage new connections to place?
