Entrepreneurial Masterclass with Gary Robinson
The Centre of Entrepreneurship host Entrepreneurial Masterclasses which offer advanced insights into the career journey of successful entrepreneurs, and knowledge of a cutting-edge area which they have become experts in, followed by a Q&A session. The talks are open to students, staff and the public. This Masterclass will be hosted by Gary Robinson. After leaving school in Halifax, Gary entered the radio industry direct from Glenrothes College armed with his HNC in Radio Broadcasting in 1989, he then started his career at Radio Tay in Dundee as the ubiquitous Tea Boy. Since then, Gary has held several roles including Commercial Copywriter and Sponsorship and Promotions Manager for ten years before being promoted to Managing Director of Moray Firth Radio and subsequently other radio stations which include Radio Tay (Dundee), Kerrang! Radio (Birmingham) and others. After a successful career as Managing Director of these various radio stations, in 2013, Gary then made a life-changing decision and formed Gary Robinson Communications (GRC Media/GRC Training). The initial aim of the business was to host conferences and events for organisations. While hosting events is a significant part of the business, Gary then diversified into training communication and presentation skills for business, education and charities while coaching individuals in the art of public speaking and presenting. Some of Gary's business clients have included Apex Hotels, DC Thomson, V&A Dundee and many more.
