Are you ready for a little adventure? Join Hannah and Jack as they flip through their scrapbook filled with the countless amazing places around Scotland including Dundee which they can’t wait to explore with their family.
Dundee is the only UNESCO City of Design in the UK, and it is now home to the only design museum in the UK outside of London - V&A Dundee, having earned high ranking titles such as one of the World’s 100th Greatest Places as published by Time, and Lonely Planet ranking it as one of the top 10 places to Visit in Europe. Dundee has also been named on the National Geographic Cool List and Staycation of the Year.
Dundee’s unique position on the east coast of Scotland on the River Tay allows us to be named the sunniest city in Scotland. Only in Dundee can we boast to have more parkland per head than any other city in UK. Green spaces and infrastructure encourage active travel, enhance biodiversity, improve air quality, food production and health & wellbeing as well as making it a lovely place to visit.
You can walk and cycle around the city on green circular passing many of our parks and green space to the ‘jewel in our crown’ at Broughty Ferry beach to see the dolphins or some water activities. You can also easily explore a bit further to our hinterland in Scotland’s Tay Country and visit Angus, Fife and Perthshire.
Did you also know that we are home to DC Thomson and have many statues around the city including Oor Wullie, Desperate Dan and Minnie the Minx and we also have a Bash Street, so take time to explore and visit the shop at the DC Thomson building in Albert Square when it reopens.
Businesses across the UK are being encouraged to sign up for the Good to Go Scheme. Look out for the logo.
