Festival Christmas Market
City Square, 9am - 4pm
Join others in sourcing the best in local produce at the Farmers’ Market, from baking to beef, gin to cheesecakes! Bar also available.

Horne's Carnival
Murraygate, Wellgate, 11am – 9pm, £ various
Stretching the length of the Murraygate to the Wellgate, look out for a variety of carnival rides for all ages to enjoy.

Silent Knights Disco
From Reform Street, 12 noon, £6 per walk
Join us for a super fun Christmas Walking Silent Disco! Running several walks throughout the day. Fun in Albert Square

Bring your little ones to Albert Square for face painting, the big screen and a fun kids disco! Hot Chocolate and bar available to enjoy a warm drink while they play.

Join our presenters for Christmas fun! Performances from Dundee Rep Ensemble’s Snow Queen, SambaYaBamba and choirs while we wait for the procession to arrive!

Central Dis-Chord
Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design, University of Dundee, Castle Street Pend, 5.30pm - 9pm, free
In collaboration with Dundee City Council‘s ‘Design your Dundee (Christmas)’ and as part of RIAS Festival of Architecture 2018, 4th Year Interior Environmental Design students from DJCAD welcome you to come and see their interactive installation project, ‘Central Dis-Chord’. The students are exploring the issue of underused city centre space and a shifting city centre considering the newly developing Waterfront.

Torchlight Procession
Our twinkling procession’s theme for this year is Wind and Water – spot the themed lanterns through the procession. Join in by making your own lanterns at our workshops in November (Saturday 3rd & 10th and Sunday 4th & 11th, from 11am, free, to book email: tissywu@hotmail.com)
Or if you’re over 18, hold a live flame aloft in the procession. Accompanied by the brilliant SambaYaBamba. Our annual procession, made by and for the people of Dundee, will proceed from the McManus Galleries, along Commercial Street and into City Square.

Christmas Lights Switch On
City Square, 6.45pm
The lights on the Christmas tree and around the city centre will be switched on by Santa and the Lord Provost with a sparkling firework finish. We recommend lining the streets to watch the procession as it winds its way into the square from The McManus down Commercial Street and the High Street.

Mini Lights Switch On
Albert Square, 6.45pm
Enjoy the countdown on screen beamed live from City Square and celebrate as we light up Pingoo the loveable Christmas penguin. A less busy event for those with wee ones or those who enjoy more breathing room. Kids can stay and enjoy the disco tent after the lights are on.

Massive Christmas Ceilidh
City Square, 7pm after Lights Switch On
Get your dancing shoes at the ready and grab your neighbour in a massive Christmas Ceilidh. Led by the fabulous Skyrie - your toes will tap and your arms will swing to the beat. Grab a warming drink at the bar and enjoy the festive fun.

Dundee Nativity
Steeple Church, 7.15pm, free
WHO’S BEEN SLEEPING IN MY BREAKFAST? The animals in a Bethlehem stable wake up and relive the exciting events of the previous night. A new script by Jerry Averill; funny, thought-provoking and for all ages. This threequarter of an hour performance by actors and musicians includes an opportunity for participation by some of the junior members of the audience. Sheep and angels needed!
